Military exercises with troops: some political and geostrategic meanings

Summary/Abstract: The study explores, using two recent sets of relevant examples, one of the roles military exercises have on the international arena. Such exercises obviously are methods aiming the quick and sound consolidation of combat worthiness of various branches of the armed forces, and of interoperability, both at national and international level; but they are also embodying the political will of the states organizing the military exercises we are speaking about, or involving themselves in such military drill. And, in the end, such military exercises are really potent and flexible political tools, transmitting (or communicating) important strategic messages to both allies/partners and competitors/potential foes.
