Summary/Abstract: During the neutrality period (August 1914 - August 1916), the Romanian civil and military intelligence structures deployed intense actions in order to ensure national security, by baffling the numerous espionage activities carried out by the secret services of the Central Powers, annihilating the overgrown left-wing terrorism, etc. But, most important, they supported the institutions that took political and military decisions through a constant and real stream of information, derived from both internal and external sources, allowing the national government to adopt an effective policy in proportion to the major powers involved in the global conflict.
