Summary/Abstract: Hilary in his teachings uses the terminology of war to describe the spiritual struggle of human being. He shows that the first warrior is God, who on the cross defeated the hostile powers and triumphed over them. A believer - a soldier of God, must fight with the enemy with the help of spiritual weapons. For the victory over himself and God’s enemy, he will receive an unfading crown of glory. In his teaching, the Bishop draws on many authors, incl. Tertullian and Origen, whose war terminology was also introduced in the article.
