Summary/Abstract: Population and Housing Census in 2011 (NSP 2011) was the first census since Poland became an EU Member State. Various commitments result from this fact, including need to provide information in the social-demographic and socio-economic areas. The article describes the experience gained in carrying out the Census 2011, including regulations, data sources, the thematic scope of research, data collection methods and forms of development and dissemination of results.
