Innovative options in the decorative arts of the Republic of Moldova. Period 1991–2000

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the changes in the artistic paradigm that occurred in the decorative arts of the Republic of Moldova during the last decade of the 20th century. The thematic,morphological, syntactic, and technological options are identified based on the examination of the evolution of the creation of the established artists and representatives of the young generation of artists (debutants of the decade). The article examines the impact of these options on the semantic informative level of the image of the textile, fashion design and artistic glass, genres well-known by the decorative artists of that period. At the same time, the article emphasizes the new valences of a conceptual-aesthetic aspect, which contributed to the optimization of the plastic expressions of the works in the field as a consequence of which the decorative arts from the Republic of Moldova have become able to correspond to the international stylistic tendences at the intersection of the two millenniums.
