Summary/Abstract: Our paper starts with a few preliminary or introductory words and a work plan. It continues with a brief presentation of the so-called „letter of credit”. The third paragraph briefly focuses on suretyship. The final portion of this paper points out that, on the distinction between the letter of credit and suretyship, the devil is in the drafting.
