The influence of digitalization on economic development

Summary/Abstract: The paper proposes to quantify the influence of the level of digitalization of a European Union country on its economic development. This is done by designing a digitization index and measuring how it influences economic growth and other economic indicators, by the autoregressive vector modeling (VAR) method using panel data and by the Bayesian stochastic boundary method. Thus, it can be concluded that the countries of the European Union can be divided into development categories according to the efficiency with which they use their digital resources.
