Summary/Abstract: In the Polish legal system, the age of criminal responsibility is 17. In proceedings involving juveniles conducted by family courts against minors of the Act of 26 October 1982 on proceedings in juvenile cases. Youth Detention Center is the most restrictive an isolation educational measure. This paper explores the role of Youth Detention Center in the social readaptation of minors. Conclusively, proposals with a view to the future law are formulated, which can help solve the issues presented in this paper.
