Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to present an analysis of the importance of regional books for the tourist market on the example of the town of Grudziądz, Poland. The paper presents the results of a survey study concerning attitudes and preferences associated with regional and tourist books. This served as a basis to show the role of those books in regional marketing in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region of Poland. In order to better visualise the phenomenon, information from the following different fields was used: regional marketing, in the broad meaning of the term, tourism, readership, city marketing and book promotion.
