Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the analysis of normative solutions contained in the Rural Development Program 2014–2020 regarding the aid instrument called “Investments restoring agricultural production potential”. The purpose of the article is to try to answer the question of whether and to what extent the form of support mentioned above protects the agricultural producer and ensures the sustainability of farming. According to the assumptions, this action is to promote remedies that serve to reduce the effects of probable natural disasters, adverse climatic events and disasters. The reason for the poor use of the funds available under this measure is the condition of meeting simultaneously two conditions for receiving aid, i.e. damage of at least 30% of the average annual agricultural production and destruction of the permanent component of the holding. This tool does not significantly affect the protection of the workshop of agricultural producers and requires legislative changes. Based on the analysis of the research material, conclusions were presented indicating possible changes that should be implemented when designing the assumptions for the future financial perspective of the European Union for 2021–2027.
