PERFORMANCES OF ADIM UNIVERSITIES UNION ON INNOVATION-ENTREPRENEURSHIP ITEM

Summary/Abstract: Unions have been established on a regional scale within the higher education system in Turkey. The reason for this is to reduce the differences of the universities participating in the Union, to form common values in the academic field, to achieve more effective results by combining the opportunities of the universities and to share the experiences formed in the administrative and financial areas. One of these Unions is “the Adım Üniversiteleri”, which generally covers universities (Aydın Adnan Menderes, Afyon, Balıkesir, Celal Bayar, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart, Kütahya Dumlupınar, Eskisehir Osmangazi, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman, Süleyman Demirel and Uşak) in the Aegean and Inner Anatolia Regions. The author has conducted studies on the performance of this university union in past years and has published them. According to these studies, it is seen that the relevant union did not raise awareness and not achieve the desired success, especially on a regional scale, despite there are very important and wide application areas. In this paper, the performance of the universities in the relevant union was emphasized in another area. Since 2012, under the leadership of TUBITAK, the performance of those organized on the basis of the entrepreneurial-innovative university Index (GYÜE) is evaluated. In the study, new universities that subsequently joined the Union were not taken into account.
