Summary/Abstract: During the period between 1945 and 1980 the elementary schools of Senj experienced three reorganizations as a result of the new school regulations and continuous decrease of the number of pupils. Year by year the number of inhabitants in all the villages of the area of Senj were gradually growing less. The whole area so remaines depopulated and without elementary conditions for the normal existence such as employment, roads, electricity, water etc. Consequently all the villages, situated either at the foot of the mountain or those around Krivi Put, were rapidly depopulated and during some twenty last years more than twenty schools were closed.
