Summary/Abstract: The present research aims to identify difficulties and translation strategies of desde logo (PT) into Spanish, on one hand, and into Bulgarian and Polish, on the other hand. Starting from a first (and still ongoing) contrastive study on the behaviour of the items desde logo (PT) and desde luego (ES), and considering the effects that the proximity (formal but not semantic) of the two DMs can have in the construction of the translation strategies, it is our intention to frame the results obtained in a broader analysis, involving the contrast with languages more distant from Portuguese, namely Bulgarian and Polish.
