Analysis of Commitments of the Slovak Republic in the Field of Defense in the Context of Gender Equality and Respect for Human Rights of Women

Summary/Abstract: The issue of gender equality and respect for women's human rights is becoming highly topical in the context of growing security challenges. International cooperation in the field of conflict prevention and peace-keeping requires the Slovak Republic to support the increased political participation of women and strengthen their position in decision-making processes in local, national and international institutions and organizations, including the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. The article therefore deals with the systematization and analysis of basic documents and guidelines concerning domestic and international crisis management in the field of gender equality, specifically provides information on the state of gender equality in the conditions of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. Taking into account the gender needs of members of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic requires the introduction of a gender perspective and the use of gender equality indicators in the evaluation of all new projects and programs, which we currently consider to be a major challenge for modern organizations.
