Summary/Abstract: his paper aims to identify variables related to predominantly military-oriented activities that can be relevant for the process of quantifying defence diplomacy and be used as dichotomous qualitative variables for the indirect „measurement” of defence diplomacy in order to operationalise it. By virtue of its membership in a certain alliance, a state participates in international exercises and drills; at the same time, it is accepted as an equal partner by the other states. Thus, it can be said that political and military decision-makers from that state are making efforts so that, by means of defence diplomacy, the state in question can be accepted by the international community and can ensure its security by interconnecting with the security of other states.
