Summary/Abstract: The article comments archaeological finds from two localities, near the modern town of Kozloduy – Kilera (or Cetatea) and Turlashkata Mahala (or Saltirov Vodopoy). From the first one three fruit bowls (Figs. 1.2–4) and amphora of Dressels 2-4/Augst 5 type (Fig. 1.1) originated. The fruit bowls are made on fast wheel, grey in colour. They have numerous analogies north and south of Danube dated between second half of 2nd c. BC and 1st c. AD. One of them is with burnished decoration and should probably be dated in the second half of 1st c. BC and 1st c. AD. In Turlashkata Mahala were discovered five brooches. Most of them are dated to the very end of 1st c. BC and first half of 1st c. AD (Figs. 2.1–4). The latest two can be dated in the second half of 1st c. AD (Figs. 2.5–6). The absence of pottery (except prehistoric) in Turlashkata Mahala and the presence of burned brooches might indicate an early Imperial necropolis here. It is possible that it belonged to the settlement in Kilera Locality (probably a roman praesidia). Accidental finds from this place further support roman presence – coins of the Republic, Germanicus and Vespasianus. Another findspot of early coins is Magura de piatra Locality. In the region of Kozloduy a coin hoard of Domitian aurei was discovered during the 20th c. (now mostly lost). No excavations were carried here, except field surveys by Sofia University in the 80s. However, the rich data about the Early Imperial period strongly suggests an early roman camp in the region, probably in Kilera Locality.
