Summary/Abstract: When exploring the Slavic settlement Rudi-Farfuria Turkului, an astragal with a rune-like ideogram carved on it was found in one of the dwellings. Similar single signs are well known on the territory of the First Bulgarian Kingdom, where they are often interpreted as tamgas. Farther to the East, similar graphemes are organically included in the system of Turkic runic writing. Remaining a replica of the Orkhon-Yenisei runic writing, the Turkic runic writing of Europe inherited the main part of its characters, without avoiding some modifications of the content. In it, as in the hieroglyphic writing, it is possible that each character (sign) can carry much more information than a simple unit of alphabetical writing.
