Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to highlight the theoretical and methodological approaches related to the subject of women status changing in the Republic of Moldova marked by the migration phenomenon. The theme is a recurring one and practically little approached in historiography. In view of the fact that the changes caused by intercultural symbiosis, the author tries to clarify things through the «boundary theory» defined by three terms from the English – boundary, border and frontier. He concludes that the migration impact on women from Republic of Moldova should be considered on the basis of cultural diversification, differences and mutual influences, since in the process of transborder interaction, women can become a necessary link in the “intercultural relationship”. In terms of research methodology, although the problem allows for a transcendental and interdisciplinary approach, the author proposes to highlight the problem through interviews and the collection of oral evidence, which are part of the methodology characteristic to oral history. This direction makes it possible to reconstruct a series of events from the past history and organize the memories of migration in “stories” that can define and supplement the official history.
