Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the study of pseudo-Rhodian amphorae of type 1 according to the classification of T.L. Samoylova, which were discovered during the excavations of Tyras. Issues related to their origin, morphology and chronology are examined. Special attention is paid to the determination of the contents of this type of receptacles. The area of distribution is outlined and possible routes for the arrival of such vessels to the sites are proposed. It has been suggested that the finds of amphorae of the examined type from Tyras are related to the food supply of the Roman army vexillatio located in the city in the 2nd – first half of the 3rd centuries AD.
