Ceramics of the Bondarikha culture: approach to morphological analysis

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results of morphological analysis of ceramics of the Bondarikha culture, including its classification and basic statistical analysis. The classification is based on a combination of empirical and statistical methods of grouping the material. In its framework, the quantitative and qualitative chronological markers for two groups of sites were assigned: early (the first two stages of the culture, XII-X BC) and late (the final stage of the culture, IX BC). The analysis by the method of V.F. Gening allowed distinguishing the standard of the Bondarikha culture ceramic tradition in the system of attributes-form indexes and average differences of chronological groups according to some form indexes. Its results can be used in comparison with ceramic assemblages at the intercultural level, clarification of their cultural attribution and dating.
