Summary/Abstract: Healthy living habits are acquired early, in childhood and early adolescence, and nowadays their importance is increasingly emphasized. Student life is, in this respect, a critical period for young people who, due to the pressure of college obligations, sometimes neglect healthy life. Precisely because of this, the aim of this paper was to examine the perceptions and experiences of healthy living of students at the University of Split. The paper presents the results of a survey conducted during June and July 2019, using the method of semi-structured interviews on a sample of twenty interviewees who were physically active at the time of the interview or actively or recreationally engaged in sports or other physical activity. Their opinions on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle, being informed about healthy living habits, the impact of the media and social networks on aspects of healthy living, etc. were examined. The obtained results show that most of the interlocutors, in addition to being regularly physically active, also take care of their diet. It is these two segments that all interlocutors emphasize in their definition of healthy living. They also point out that they strive to maintain healthy living habits. Physical activity has a positive effect on them, relaxes them and helps them cope with stress. Almost everyone is satisfied with how much they are informed about healthy living habits. Half of them think that educational institutions (faculties) should encourage a healthy life of students, and also around a half of them want to change something to further improve their healthy lifestyle. Most of them do not follow any media content related to healthy living and have divided opinions regarding the impact of the media on the healthy living habits of young people.
