Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarian national costume is a bright and distinctive cultural phenomenon that has developed and improved over centuries. It is one of the most popular elements of ethnic culture, which is a kind of sociocode that transfers information from the past to the future. It is in traditional clothing that cultural experience is accumulated and transmitted. Preserving the signs of different eras, the features of the folk costume are an important link in the study of the ethnic history of the population, its social structure, aesthetic views and ideas. At the present stage, issues of ethnic identity and the preservation of the cultural heritage of ethnic groups are particularly acute. The study of the wedding costume of the Bulgarians of the Republic of Moldova allows us to trace the state and preservation of the traditions of Bulgarian immigrants, to show through the material language of the costume the preservation of the ethnic consciousness of the Bulgarians living in Moldova, as well as to draw attention to the need to preserve the Bulgarian cultural heritage, the wedding attire being part of it. The article describes the clothes of all participants in the wedding, their accessories, made in accordance with the accepted local traditions, as well as the wedding terminology adopted in the Bulgarian villages of Moldova.
