Summary/Abstract: Values govern all our daily actions and are transmitted from one generation to the next. Despite the existence of different views on whether a school should transmit values ad, if so, which ones, a value-neutral school does not exist. The education system transmits or blocks certain values through the official curriculum and the hidden curriculum. An important role in that process is played by teachers whose personal values govern their behaviour, choice of teaching methods, communication and overall educational work, and are the part of a hidden curriculum. In this paper, the authors will discuss the transfer of values through the hidden curriculum and the role that teachers have in this process. The results of a research aimed at examining the attitudes of future teachers about values and the transfer of values to students will also be presented.
