Summary/Abstract: The organization of the 16th Annual Gatherings in Biosemiotics was held by Jana Švorcová and Karel Kleisner from the Department of Philosophy and History of Sciences at Charles University and it took place in Prague from Monday July 4 until Friday July 8 2016. Our department has quite a long tradition of biosemiotics studies mainly thanks to Anton Markoš who is considered as representative of the Prague school of biosemiotics.
