Summary/Abstract: The 14th Gatherings in Biosemiotics - or GB14 - was held at Middlesex University, London. Owing to circumstances, it was arranged at short notice. In addition, I had only moved to my post at the University a matter of months earlier. Therefore, I remain grateful for the University’s support, along with that of colleagues in the International Society for Biosemiotics, in making this meeting run as smoothly as possible.
