Summary/Abstract: I proposed to explore the impact of the economic and financial crisis caused by the COVID-19 on tourism at a global and regional level. I have carried out a comparative analysis between the main indicators in tourism in 2020 in relation to the same period in 2019 mentioning the data registered at an international level. Moreover, the research has the purpose to identify to what extent is affected the touristic field by the crisis generated by the Covid pandemic. In the research I have used the observation method based on the description of the indicators that best describe tourism on regions. The results highlight the fact that the number of arrivals of international tourists have decreased by 70% in the first 8 months of 2020 in comparison with the same period of the last year due to the travel global restrictions, including several borders that were completely closed, in order to limit the spread of the pandemic.
