Summary/Abstract: Sustainable economic growth is becoming increasingly present in the concerns of world governments, the concept first appearing in 1987 in the Brundtland Commission Report. The concern for sustainable economic growth was born with the help of tools that the European Commission has thought of and presented to EU member states, and each country will adapt to them. From a fiscal point of view, certain taxes were created, such as: energy tax, transport tax, pollution tax, which operated on the “polluter pays” principle. The contribution of these taxes to the economic growth within a country represents the main objective of the paper. Thus, with the help of SPSS, not only the link between taxation, through these taxes, and economic growth (GDP/inhabitant) at the level of EU countries will be analyzed, but a robust regression model will also be achieved. The analyzed period is 2010 - 2018.
