Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the history of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. It gives a detailed analysis of the reasons that caused the construction of border strongholds between East and West Berlin due to the tough confrontation between the capitalist and socialist world systems during the Cold War. Positions of the participants in the process of the solution of the German Question are estimated. The role of a number of political figures, who have played a key role in the opening of the inner German borders and in the unification of Germany, is shown.
