Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The article addresses three issues considered significant in relation to teachers’ personal characteristics and the teaching profession. The analysis covers: teachers’ dignity, authority, and responsibility. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The problems arising from the analysed issues were expressed in the strategy of seeking answers to questions about their structure and dynamics in times of contemporary axionormative chaos. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The process of argumantation focuses on answering the question whether in times of contemporary axionormative chaos dignity, authority and responsibility are still constitutive elements of the teaching profession, which is still widely recognized as an important profession of social trust. RESEARCH RESULTS: The article presents findings on the contemporary understanding of such concepts as the teacher’s dignity, authority and responsibility nowadays, in the period described as the times of axionormative chaos. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The analysis was aimed at cognitive description, explanation and interpretation of the subject of the study and its application in the form of open questions addressed to the reader.
