Public governance – the challenge for the contemporary state

Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the public governance conception (public co-governing, coordination of collective actions) in the context of the change of the contemporary state and the public sphere is a subject of the study. In the article a problem of the inadequate efficiency of the state, identified with the wide conception of the public sector, with the particular role of the effectiveness and the efficiency of functioning of the civil service for creating conditions for the socio-economic development which all citizens should use is taken into account. The author adopts the research hypothesis that public governance is a theoretical paradigm of functioning of the contemporary state. Therefore in the application aspect it is necessary to determine the principles of good governance.
