Local authorities intervention as the system shaping the investment climate

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the present study is to identify the interventions of local authorities which aim was to attract foreign investors and to describe factors determining them. There were analyzed the results of survey from 16 districts of Warmia-Mazuria voivodeship (out of 78 which participated in the survey), which confirmed the increase of foreign investments in their area. Among the activities of local authorities the dominating ones are those which confirmed the increase of foreign investments in their region (55.6%). It was achieved by permanent activities (61.5%). Among the surveyed local authorities of Warmia- Mazuria voivodeship the most often factors which decide about the activities of local authorities towards foreign investors was a desire to create additional possibility for development (22.4%) and its conscious shaping of controlled development (20.7%).
