Summary/Abstract: The present text aims to draw attention to the hitherto unanalysed matter of the evaluation of Michał Staszków’s scientific work, carried out by Kazimierz Kolańczyk, a scholar from Poznań specialising in Roman law. The evaluation of Michał Staszków’s efforts to obtain the title of associate professor, previously unanalysed and unpublished, is an interesting source of information as to the scientific perception of this Katowice-based scientist.
