Summary/Abstract: This paper studies three cases of conflicts of interest among shareholders that occurred in public listed companies in Poland. This paper also analyses how Polish Individual Investors’ Association (SII) took part in those conflicts. The first conflict analyzed was connected with plans of a merger between a listed company (Mostostal Siedlce) and a non-listed one (Polimex-Cekop), the second concerned a loan that a daughter company – Mostostal Płock granted its mother company Mostostal Warszawa. The last case concerns withdrawal of shares of Wafapomp SA which was taken over by the non-listed company Powen. As shown in the paper, actions that SII has undertaken have had positive results for individual investors. Although there have been some unsuccessful actions, it is clear that the Polish Individual Investors Association has the chance to represent minor shareholders’ rights effectively.
