About the Bulgarian book publishing during the pandemic

Statistical analysis based on data of the National ISBN Agency

Summary/Abstract: Proposed is a statistical analysis about the situation in the Bulgarian book publishing in 2020 – the year of COVID-19 pandemic. Data is compared with the figures from the previous 3 years to more clearly delineate the consequences and trends in the sector. For the analysis, the following indicators were used: number of assigned ISBNs for 2020, number of newly registered publishers, quantities of editions requested by the different publishers, number of active publishers during the year, ratio between the different categories of editions. Finally, some more important conclusions are drawn.
