A perspective on values in (a pianist) music from the point of view of one’s own educational and stage experiences

Summary/Abstract: The article treats about widely-understood values in music and their influence on the form and the course of classes at Cieszyn Artistic Faculty of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The author — a pianist and pedagogue — dealing with the values of pianist music, pays a special attention to the relationships between an academic teacher and his/her student when working on particular works. Individual meetings devoted to teaching how to play the (piano) instrument impose a certain duty on the person of a teacher who shows the student a way to universal values. This perspective on values in music is presented from the author’s own point of view, always directed at the other person being the subject of all actions.
