Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to compare two models of economic man: homo oeconomicus and „resourceful evaluating, maximising man” proposed by Jensen and Meckling. The results of this comparison are used to show the explanation possibilities of economics, especially in the framework of the logic of the situation. According to social phenomena this kind of explanation is constrained, as demonstrated in this paper.
