The National Museum of History presents: “Through the Press and the Sword”

Summary/Abstract: In 2021 Bulgaria celebrates 200 years since the birth of Georgi Stoykov Rakovski. On this occasion The National Museum of History organized the exhibition “Through the Press and the Sword” which was opened in the central lobby of the museum on April 20, 2021. It was realized by the National Museum of History in partnership with Rousse Regional Museum of History and Kotel History Museum and with the cooperation of the “St. St Cyril and Methodius” National Library. The exhibition ranges over the whole lifetime and all-embracing activity of Georgi Stoykov Rakovski and brings him to the forefront as a man of vision, a true patriarch of the national revolution who managed to shift the political thought of his contemporaries and to turn the spontaneous discontent with the ottoman rule into organized revolutionary movement.
