Summary/Abstract: The idea of the EMU requires countries entering the euro zone to have a homogeneous system of monetary policy instruments including open market operations. This paper presents a comparative analysis of Polish and European zone solutions in the range of open market operations. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the degree of adjustment of the instruments discussed, used by the National Bank of Poland to the standards, norms and procedures of the European Central Bank. The adjustment requires the harmonization of all types carried out by the Polish National Bank operations on the open market.
