Summary/Abstract: The article presents new possibilities of using the correspondence addressed to the central authorities in Warsaw as a source to explore the history of the Polish People’s Republic. In People’s Poland, the Poles wrote tens of millions of letters, complaints, and requests, but also incriminating letters addressed to the Party leadership, state and economic administration, as well as to cooperatives. The preserved original letters, together with their periodical, thematic, and problem analyses could serve as a valuable source of evidence for research into the social, economic, political and cultural history of the Polish People’s Republic.
