Summary/Abstract: Interests prepare both for self-education throughout life. They are an important determinant of a person’s life path. The aim of the research was to obtain information in regard to the interests of foster care pupils but also in regard to the support obtained in developing them.The research was conducted in order to answer the following questions: Do pupils have any interests? What kind of interests do they have? Material and methods. The research was carried out in 2018 and it was of quantitative nature. The research includes the surveys carried out in three provinces. The survey questionnaire relied on interviews with directors of childcare centres and a questionnaire for the pupils. Results. The interests were determined by age, sex, or living environment. However, the support they obtained in the development of these interests consituted a type of foster care. Conclusions. Pupils receive various types of support in developing their interests.
