Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to show the fundamental value and need for the presence of the spiritual dimension of human health in the cognitive and practical competences of the health promoter, including the teaching of John Paul II showing the axiological dimension of the spiritual sphere of a person. It should be emphasized that the lack of a spiritual dimension in the complexity and integrity of actions for human health has the features of reductionism instead of coherent merging. Educational standards shown in actions taken in Poland, Europe and on a global scale to improve the quality of education of health promotion personnel do not require the education of professional competences showing and explaining the transcendent dimension of health, which thanks to conscience, through the power of the Holy Spirit penetrates all health spheres minimizing erroneous human activities.
