LEISURE TIME OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS SPENT IN FOREST CONSIDERING THE DISTANCE FROM THEIR DOMICILE TO THE NEAREST FOREST

Summary/Abstract: The time left at man’s disposal after having completed by them basic everyday activities, is usually used for rest and regeneration of the organism, as well as for their own growth. Therefore, proper organization and content of the leisure time, have an impact on the quality of life of every human being. In the presented paper the authors have pointed at the role of forest in the life and leisure time of students of Pope John Paul II State School of Higher education in Biala Podlaska, Poland. The analysis is based on considering a key factor in the opinion of the authors i.e. the distance from the respondents’ domicile from the nearest forest. The study was conducted in 2013, using the diagnostic survey method and applying the questionnaire form. The study was carried out on a group of 400 students of PSW in Biała Podlaska, Poland.
