SOME NECESSARY DISTINCTIONS REGARDING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ROMANIAN OMBUDSMAN

Summary/Abstract: The impact that the People's Advocate institution has on society and on human rights hasinterested this research from the perspective of expanding and diversifying the role of the institution, following the legislative changes in recent years. We asked ourselves whether, for this purpose, anappropriate instrument for measuring the efficiency of the People's Advocate could be identified, takinginto account all the variables that determine it. The conclusion is that a correct evaluation must bemade on each of the operational levels of the institution and taking into account all determinants.
