Summary/Abstract: In January 2021, several regulations were published in the Official Journal, including: G.E.O. no. 220/2020 on the establishment of certain social protection measures after 1st of January 2021 in the context of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, as well as for the amendment of certain regulations; Law no. 2/2021 on certain measures for preventing and fighting antigypsyism; Order of the president of the National Employment Agency (OPANOFM) no. 2/2021 for approval of the Procedure for awarding the amounts provided for in Article I para. (1) of the G.E.O. no. 220/2020 regarding the application of certain social protection measures after the 1st of January 2021 in the context of the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, as well as for the amendment of certain regulations; Law no. 5/2021 on the Statute of the operative intervention professionals within civil services providing public health emergency assistance and qualified first aid; Government Decision no. 3/2021 regarding the extension of the alert status on the Romanian territory starting with 13 January 2021, as well as the establishment of any measures which shall be applied during this period for preventing and fighting the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. Also, in January, several normative acts were amended, including: G.O. no. 37/2007 on the establishment of the framework for the enforcement of rules relating to the driving periods, breaks and rest periods of drivers and the use of the recording equipment of their activity; Law no. 55/2020 on some measures for preventing and combating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the following instruments were also published in the Official Journal of January: ECHR Decision dated 7 July 2020 in Case M. v. Romania (Claim no. 10.395/19); ECHR Decision dated 29 September 2020 in case D.D.P. and others v. Romania (Claim no. 39.480/03 and other 24 claims); ECHR Decision dated 6 October 2020 in Case G. v. Romania (Claim no. 40.124/13).
