Summary/Abstract: In the article I present selected problems related to contemporary feminist interventions in the field of aesthetics. I first deal with the issues of defining and autonomizing feminist aesthetics, referring to the views of such researchers as C. Korsmeyer, H. Hein, M. Devereaux, R. Lorraine Cox, E. Lauter, and P. Zeglin Brand. Then I present the main currents of feminist aesthetics present in philosophy since the 1970s. I define these currents as: historical-critical, essentialist, matriarchal and anti-theoretical. My goal is to synthetically discuss the condition of feminist aesthetics as an important philosophical discipline which for many reasons remained and, I believe, still remains on the margins of feminist philosophy.
