Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to examine the US / NATO’s failed operation in Afghanistan and to analyze the likely effects of the agreement signed between the USA and the Taliban. There are several reasons explaining why this operation failed. However, the fact that Afghanistan cannot be occupied or governed by foreign power for a long-term has been proven once again.Besides, the ongoing twenty years of war has created frustration in every country involved. It is very important that the agreement between the USA and the Taliban that aims to bring peace to Afghanistan must be successful. Taliban must share the administration power with all ethnic elements and adopt a governmental philosophy that is free from the radical thoughts.
