Summary/Abstract: The regional policy is becoming one of the most important elements in the development policy, in particular regarding the problem areas. The article aims to analyse the rationality of revitalisation of areas threatened with permanent marginalisation, defined as problem areas. The conducted analysis enabled drawing general conclusions and providing recommendations for decision makers. The research method adopted by the authors is secondary research, based on the analysis of data from government sources and literature review.
