1881: Russian-speaking statements of messages of Edmund О’Donovan from the newspaper Daily News (on materials of the newspaper Caucasus: for the second half of the year 1881)

Summary/Abstract: Newspaper messages of correspondent Edmund O’Donovan (1844-1883) from August, 12th 1881 and its other publications on the basis of publications of Russian-speaking periodicals of the same year and also separate archival documents are considered. On an example of these publications O’Donovan activity Tykma (Dykma)-serdar, the Magtymguly-khan and some other historical persons in affairs of voluntary occurrence of an oasis Merv in structure of the Russian empire is discussed. In the second part of article Merv and its inhabitants and Letters from the Englishman on Merv without the corresponding comment is reproduced texts of articles of the same correspondent.
