Osman Ghazi’s Wifes and Children

Summary/Abstract: One can see some information about wives whom Osman Ghazi married, and his children both in chronicles and in Ottoman endowment deeds (vakfiye). Yet, it is seen that they do not match with each other. This causes an uncertain situation. It is hoped that this study, which is written to contribute to the discussions on the names of Osman Ghazi’s wives, those of fathers of these wives, and on lives and lineage of his children, will clarify that uncertainty in the light of some documents never before published.
