Summary/Abstract: In the historical studies of the Ottoman State, both the first hand source and the rich variety of subjects, the Ottoman Şer‘iye sicilis (court registers) stands out. While the records it contains reflect the period and daily life of the region in particular, it provides information on the administrative judical military economic socio-cultural mechanism of the Ottoman State in general. The evaluation of these records allows for the emergence of studies on various subjects and in different disciplines. It also a fact that it has recently created a source of information for many studies in the field of micro history. In this respect Beşiktaş no 10, which contains records of 980-983 time period, has been selected in order to make a small contribution to the studies to be conducted on the basis of the Şer’iye sicilis. First, the registry was introduced and then the records were classified according to their subjects and summaries were prepared. In the light of the data that emerged, the oppurtunity to gain insight into everyday life in the town of Beşiktaş was born.
